This is probably not amusing to most but it's my chance to (1) test out the blog and (2) talk about my little man! :-)
Every morning and I mean EVERY morning; we have to go through a process with Simba. Siju starts with waking him up by literally picking him up from bed, holding him, putting him down and helping him stretch out his legs (yes, seriously….I’m not the only coo coo one in the house) and we have to annoy him with morning kisses. All this just to wake him up but it doesn't work because as soon as we put him down he runs straight back into his bed. Once I even took his bed away so that he would have nowhere to run and sleep and next thing you know I find him sleeping in our bed (he KNOWS he's not allowed on the bed unless we pick him up and put him there). We do all this so that he’s up and awake so when we send him out he will take care of business or else he just goes outside and waits by the door to come back inside because he’s too sleepy.
Finally, when Siju leaves, Simba wakes up and I have to take him out so I open the door to let him out and make my lunch in the process. He scratches on the door so that I can let him back in and again, he goes right back to sleep either on his bed or couch. For the past few months he knows when I’m ready to leave because I grab my purse and call him so he runs away and goes straight under my bed and hides (once he was hiding under a table in the baby’s room). He gets a treat if he goes into the kitchen (which is where he stays when we're at work) but lately not even a treat is enough for him to go into the kitchen. I hold out the treat so he can see it and I even act as if I've left the house all to get him out from under the bed BUT he still won't come out and just peaks from the corner of the bed post and when he sees me he runs right back under the bed. By the time I realize I'm late for work I just crawl under the bed and drag him from under the bed and put him in the kitchen with his toys and give him a treat and leave. Crawling under the bed is getting a little harder now that I'm in my 8th month of pregnancy but I have no choice.
I wonder how things are going to be with the new baby and getting Simba up in the morning. Nonetheless, it's crazy how childlike and smart dogs are. As difficult as it is for me to wake him up in the morning I enjoy every minute with him to the point where I blog about him.
that is so freaking cute!! buddy wakes up so everytime someone is awake, but they take her outside in the morning to take care of her business then if patrick is home, she runs upstairs and goes to sleep with him.
