Baby Update 1

It has been over a year since I used this blog and since then my life has changed drastically. We not only have one baby but TWO!!! I can't update everyone with everything that happened since then so I'm skipping ahead....

Anyways, I figured I would use this blog to update close family and friends on how Jesse is doing. Doctor's order is that he has to drink a minimum of 35cc in 15 minutes and also maintain a temperature of 98.2. With the feeding, he's doing great!!! He drinks more than his minimum and probably would take more. I'm starting to produce so he takes whatever milk I have and we supplement the rest with formula. He loves his mamas milk....already a mama's boy! :-)

In regards to his temperature, not so hot! He needs to maintain a temp of 98.2 for the nurse to put the isolate down 0.5. If he doesn't, then the isolate goes up 0.5. The nurse can only bring it down a maximum of 1.0 each 12 hours. He was originally started on the isolate at 32 and was doing well and slowly going down. His isolate was set at 29 yesterday at 6pm and we were making progress to our magic number 28 which would allow him to sit in an open crib and one step closer to HOME! Last night, he had a temp of 98.1 and the isolate went back up to 30! It sucks that 0.1 degree is making him stay here for another day! :(

For me, recovering well! Body is sore but I think it's from the hospital bed. I'm having bad cramps from the milk production and breast pumping but it's supposed to last for only a few days so I'm anxiously awaiting that morning when I wake up and go, "awwww no pain!" In regards to my nipples, hmmmm....what nipples!?!? :'(
